Superintendent Chane P. Smith, Sr., a Los Angeles native, has served at Shackelford Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ since birth. He was licensed as a Minister in 1992 and ordained as an Elder in 1995.

He became Assistant Pastor in 1998, Co-Pastor in 2006, and Senior Pastor on September 26, 2010. In 2015, he was appointed District Superintendent of the West Angeles District.

He holds AA and BA degrees in Theology and Biblical Studies and retired after 32 years with LAUSD Special Education. Under his leadership, the church has grown, expanded outreach, and completed a full, debt-free renovation.

In August 2023, he ministered in São Paulo, Brazil. In September 2025, Bishop Terrance P. Rhone appointed him Missions Director of the East Uganda Region for C.O.G.I.C. World Missions.

He is married to Mrs. April Wade Smith, and they have five children, two bonus daughters, and three grandchildren.
